Table 5–3 Special Characters for SRM Console
Character Function
Return or Enter
Terminates a command line. No action is taken on a command until
it is terminated. If no characters are entered and this key is pressed,
the console just redisplays the prompt.
Backslash (\)
Continues a command on the next line. Must be the last character
on the line to be continued.
Delete
Deletes the previous character.
Ctrl/A
Toggles between insert and overstrike modes. The default is insert
mode.
Ctrl/B or
up-arrow
Recalls previous command or commands. The last 16 commands
are stored in the recall buffer.
Ctrl/C
Terminates the process that is running. Clears Ctrl/S; resumes
output suspended by Ctrl/O. When entered as part of a command
line, deletes the current line. Ctrl/C has no effect as part of a binary
data stream.
Left-arrow
Moves the cursor left one position.
Ctrl/E
Moves the cursor to the end of the line.
Ctrl/F or
right-arrow
Moves the cursor right one position.
Ctrl/H
Moves the cursor to the beginning of the line.
Backspace
Deletes one character.
Ctrl/J
Deletes the previous word.
Ctrl/O
Stops output to the console terminal for the current command.
Toggles between enable and disable. The output can be re-enabled
by other means as well: when the console prompts for a command,
issues an error message, or enters program mode, or when Ctrl/P is
entered.
