LED backlit panel - but why LED? First, because LEDs don’t
contain mercury, the cause for concern over the use of the
element is eliminated. So when it’s time to replace your
monitor, you can feel good about your recycling efforts. Next,
because they are small, solid state components, a monitor can
be thin, light and more robust than previous CCFL monitors.
Finally, as LED technology becomes more mainstream, CCFLs
will simply be left in the dark.
