Introduction
This guide provides the network administrator with instructions for
local and remote configuration of the Linux-based thin client and
explains the various utilities used to accomplish this task. This guide
provides instructions for both the HP Compaq t5125 thin client and
the HP Compaq t5525 thin client.
✎
Not all features described in this guide are available in all
Linux-based terminal models.
Typically, a terminal is configured locally and then used as a template
for other terminals, which then can be configured via remote
administration tools. Server and application connections can be
created through the Settings panel’s Network Settings dialog.
Chapters in this guide are specific to the desktop interface and
programs in Settings, which is the control panel for the Linux-based
image.
✎
A default user account is pre-installed:
User name: root
Password: root
This default account is also the Administrator “rights” account for
Linux. Therefore, it is recommended you change the password, and
create a new separate user account for non-administrator users.
