Before removing the WWAN module, follow these steps:
1.
Prepare the computer for disassembly (see
Preparation for disassembly on page 40
2.
Remove the display panel (see
).
3.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see
Remove the WWAN module:
1.
Remove the reusable protective strip from on top of the antenna connectors (1).
2.
Disconnect the antenna cables (2).
3.
Using a Phillips #0 screwdriver, remove the Phillips M1.4 × 1.6 screw (3), and then remove the module
(4).
NOTE:
Models have either one or two WLAN antennas. On models with two antennas, the #1 white
WLAN antenna cable connects to the WLAN module #1 Main terminal. The #2 black WLAN antenna cable
connects to the WLAN module #1 Aux terminal.
4.
If the WWAN antenna is not connected to the terminal on the WWAN module, a protective sleeve must be
installed on the antenna connector, as shown in the following illustration.
