Installing/removing an LPU
CAUTION:
Do not touch the surface-mounted components directly with your hands when installing or removing an
LPU.
The HP 7904 switch comes with blank panels installed in all LPU slots except slot 1.
For LPUs available for the HP FlexFabric 7900 Switch Series, see "
Appendix B FRUs and compatibility
This section uses the LSV1QGS12SA1 as an example to describe the procedures of installing and
removing an LPU.
Installing an LPU
1.
Wear an ESD wrist strap and make sure it makes good skin contact and is correctly grounded.
2.
If the slot has a blank panel, use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the mounting screws on the blank
panel, thread a flat-blade screwdriver through the handle on the blank panel, and pull out the
blank panel gently.
Keep the removed blank panel for future use.
3.
Unpack the LPU.
4.
Gently push the LPU in along the slot guide rails (Make sure the ejector levers are perpendicular to
the LPU panel) until the brakes on the ejector levers touch the slot edges tightly.
5.
Press the ejector levers inward until the ejector levers touch the panel tightly and the LPU has a
good contact with the backplane.
6.
Tighten the captive screws with a Phillips screwdriver to secure the LPU in the slot.
