DIMM Slot Identification
Removing DIMMs
To remove memory DIMMs, perform the following steps:
Step 1.
Turn off the server and disconnect all the cables. See “Powering Off the Server” on page 42 for more
information.
Step 2.
Remove the top metal cover. See “Removing the Top Metal Cover” on page 50.
Step 3.
Identify the DIMM to be removed and push the appropriate extraction levers found on either side of
the DIMM slot outward to the open position. The DIMM ejects from the slot.
Step 4.
Remove the DIMM from the socket. If the removed memory is functional, store it in a static-free
container for future use.
