Enable Mirrored Disk
Warning:
Using this command may cause a mirror set copy. Read all
instructions in this section
before
using this command.
This command attempts to enable a mirrored SCSI disk, indicated by
Disk
x
, that is
disabled
or
faulted.
The disk is enabled without having to reboot the IOP under most circumstances.
A disk is faulted when it cannot respond to a read or write request. The disk’s failure to respond
to a read or write request may be transient or permanent.
This command is used to enable a disk following a repair or replacement. For instructions about
how to replace a disk, refer to
Replacing a Failed Mirrored Disk
on page
9-27
.
A disk experienced read or write errors and was deemed to be
faulted
, then the
faulted
state
would remain across IOP reboots, even if you replaced the faulted disk. In this case, you must
explicitly enable the disk to clear its
faulted
condition.

– the ID number of the IOP (1 or 2)

– the ID number of the SCSI disk
Results
The disk remirroring process is initiated, if necessary. If a disk is
enabled
and it becomes a mirror copy target, but the copy has not started yet, the disk
remains
offline
until the copy begins; it does not transition to
online
until the
mirror copy begins.
If this command does not succeed, examine the event log for details.
