To reduce potential safety issues, use only the battery provided with the tablet, a replacement
battery provided by HP, or a compatible battery purchased from HP.

Do not remove the battery from the middle plate. To avoid personal injury and damage to the
product, use extreme care not to puncture, twist, or crack the battery. A puncture or rupture of the battery
internally can cause a short with the battery bursting into flames.
CAUTION:
Removing a battery that is the sole power source for the tablet can cause loss of information. To
prevent loss of information, save your work or shut down the tablet through the operating system before
disconnecting and removing the battery.
Remove the battery and middle plate:
1.
Peel off and remove the proximity sensor plastic (1).
2.
Remove the six 2 mm P0 Phillips and two 3 mm P0 Phillips screws (1) that secure the middle frame to
the display assembly.
