Using the optional security screw
Use the optional security screw to lock the service door to the bottom of the computer. When not in
use the security screw can be stored inside the battery bay.
To use the security screw:
1.
Remove the battery (see

Remove the security screw from inside the battery bay (1) and insert it (2) to lock the service
door in place.

Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet,
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
