Network Setup
Step 7.
Verify that you can access the Administrative Console from a browser running on a computer
system connected to your network by entering the IP address of the unit:
http://<ip address>
The Administrator Logon page should appear (see Figure 3-3).

Step 8.
Log on using the username and password you set in Step 4.
Step 9.
You can now use the browser-based Administrative Console to complete the configuration of
other settings such as advanced network features, session logging, SNMP management, the
HTTP proxy feature, Wireless Data Privacy settings, and setting up authentication and access
policies for client network access. For example, see Step 18 on page 3-13 in the section“Initial
Configuration Using the Administrative Console” for information on setting the system date,
time and time zone.

Connecting Using SSH
To use SSH to access the CLI, you must first connect an Ethernet cable from the uplink port on the
Access Control Server to the network. (Figure 3-2). The 700wl Series system supports SecureCRT 4.05
with the Auto Detect or Standard SSH server options.
Issuing Network Setup Commands Using SSH
After you have connected the Access Control Server to the network, follow these steps to configure the
Access Control Server network shared secret. These instructions assume you have used DHCP to obtain
the IP address and other network parameters depending on how you have configured your DHCP
server. The Access Control Server ships configured by default to obtain its IP address and other
information from a DHCP server.
Step 1.
Power up the Access Control Server. After the Access Control Server has completed its
initialization, start an SSH tunnel using the IP address displayed in the LCD panel and
admin
as
the login.
Step 2.
You will be prompted to enter the password, enter
admin
as the initial password.
