Security Settings – Windows
The Security settings tests verify that any endpoint attempting to connect to
your system meets your specified security settings requirements.
Allowed Networks
Description:
Checks for the presence of an unauthorized connection on a
endpoint. These might include connections to a rogue wireless access point,
VPN, or other remote network.
Test Properties:
Enter a list of IP ranges that are legitimate for your network.
Add the ranges separating the start and end IP with a "-". For example,
10.10.1.20-10.10.1.254.
How Does this Affect Me?:
Unauthorized connections to your network can
allow attackers access to sensitive information on your network or allow them
to disrupt network services.
What Do I Need to Do? :
Enter the IP address ranges that are allowed for your
network.
Microsoft Excel Macros
Description:
This test verifies that the endpoint attempting to connect to your
system has the Microsoft Excel macro security level specified by your security
standards.
Test Properties:
Select the minimum Microsoft Excel macro setting for that is
required in order for a endpoint to connect to your network.

. Only macros installed in trusted locations will be allowed
to run. All other signed and unsigned macros are disabled.

High
.
Only signed macros from trusted sources will be allowed to run.
Unsigned macros are automatically disabled
■
Medium
. You can choose whether or not to run potentially unsafe
macros.
