run and runOnce keys cause programs to run automatically. Many worms and viruses
are started by a call from the Windows Registry. If you limit what can start up when
you log in, you can reduce the potential for worms and viruses to run on your system.

What Do I Need to Do?:
Verify that the run and runOnce registry keys run only com-
pliant programs.
CAUTION:
Modifying registry entries incorrectly can cause serious problems that may
require you to reinstall your operating system.

Open the Registry editor by selecting
Start>>Run
.

Wireless Network Connections
Description:
Checks for the presence of an unauthorized connection on an endpoint.
This might include connections to a rogue wireless access point, VPN, or other
remote network.
Test Properties:
Select one of the items listed to specify wireless and wired connec-
tions. The following wireless adapters are supported: NetGear, LinkSYS, D-Link.
How Does this Affect Me?:
Wireless and wired networking is enabled by default. If you
want to not allow one or the other, you must specify that here.
