Compaq Workstation Family Overview
Compaq offers several workstations to meet the needs of its customers – they are certified to
optimally run PTC applications. These include: the Affordable Performance line, the AP250, the
AP550; in the Scalable Performance line, the SP750; and in the Extreme Performance line, the
XP1000.
Following are the suggested workstation configurations for optimal performance for your PTC
applications. All configurations include a three-button mouse, a Compaq P110 21” monitor, and a
three-year warranty. Common upgrades to all systems include additional memory, additional storage
(9GB or 18 GB), Spaceball 4000 FLX Motion, Iomega Zip Drives, and the TFT8020 18” flat panel.
Pro/DESKTOP
Pro/DESKTOP
provides power for conceptual designers. The recommended configuration for
Pro/DESKTOP is the
Compaq Deskpro Workstation AP250.
The AP250 offers the best
price/performance for Pro/ENGINEER. It is extremely affordable for cost conscious users. Its
predecessor the AP200 with Oxygen GVX1 was the Bench 99 price/performance winner. The
suggested AP250 configuration includes:
