Disk partitioning, RAID configuration, and failover
The four hard drives included in the 1500s are configured for
hardware RAID fault tolerance using the Adaptec 2410SA SATA
RAID Controller.
■
The Primary OS Logical Drive is configured as a 9GB RAID
1 mirror spanning drives 0 and 1.
■
The Secondary OS Logical Drive is configured as a 9GB
RAID 1 mirror spanning drives 2 and 3.
The Data volume is configured as a RAID 5 volume spanning the
remaining space across all four drives. The BIOS supports a boot
failover mechanism that will allow the system to automatically
boot to the next drive if a failure occurs on the previously booted
hard drive.
