Controller options
The server supports installation of controller options in the PCI riser assembly for node 1 and node 2. The
installation procedure for both node 1 and node 2 are the same.
To install the component:
1.
Power down the server (on page
12
).
2.
Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
3.
Remove the server (on page
13
).
4.
Place the server on a flat, level work surface.
5.
Remove the PCI riser board assembly (on page
14
).
6.
Install the expansion board into the slot until it seats firmly.
The figure shows the installation for a node 2 expansion board. Be sure to install the expansion board
in the slot for each node.
7.
Install the PCI riser board assembly (on page
17
).
IMPORTANT:
The server does not power up if the PCI riser cage is not seated properly.
8.
Connect and route all drive cables. For more information, see "Drive cabling (on page
52
)."
9.
Install the FBWC cache module and capacitor pack option, if necessary ("

).
10.
Install the server into the chassis ("

).
11.
Connect all peripheral cables to the server.
12.
Press the Power On/Standby button.
The server exits standby mode and applies full power to the system. The system power LED changes
from amber to green.
