13 QoS configuration
The bandwidth gap between the LAN and WAN may significantly degrade performance of
critical network applications, such as VoIP, gaming, and VPN. The router’s Quality of Service
(QoS) function allows users to classify application traffic and provide them with differentiated
services (DiffServ).
The QoS feature allows you to specify which data packets have greater priority when traffic is
transmitted from the WAN port. This router supports QoS with four priority queues on the
WAN port. Data packets in the WAN port’s high-priority queue will be transmitted before
those in the lower-priority queues. You can set the maximum bandwidth for each priority queue
(trafffic shaping), as well as classify traffic types, and then map them to the WAN port priority
queues (traffic mapping).

features.
