Configure IP addresses for CP cards
The Core Switch 2/64 and the SAN Director 2/128 Director each require three IP addresses,
which are configured using the
ipAddrSet
command. IP addresses are required for both CP
cards (CP0 and CP1) and for the switch.
NOTE:
Use a block of three IP addresses that are consecutively numbered in the last octet. The
IP and gateway addresses must reside on the same subnet.
Resetting an IP address while the switch is online breaks any connections to that IP address
and forces a restart of any HTTP, SNMP, and API daemons.
The addresses 10.0.0.0–10.0.0.255 are reserved and used internally by the switch.
The default IP addresses and host names for the Core Switch 2/64 and the SAN Director
2/128 CPs are as follows:
•
10.77.77.75 CP0 (the CP card in slot 5 at the time of configuration)
•
10.77.77.74 CP1 (the CP card in slot 6 at the time of configuration
Configuration changes can only be made via the active CP card. If the CP card in slot 5 is not
the active CP card, disconnect the serial cable and connect it to the CP card in slot 6; then log
in as admin.
Follow these steps to configure the IP addresses for both CP cards (from the active CP card):
1.
Enter the
ipAddrSet
command at the prompt: include option
2
for the CP card in slot 5 or
3
for the CP card in slot 6.
Example:
2.
Enter the requested information at the prompts.
The default information for the CP card in slot 5 is displayed.
Example:
swDir:admin> ipAddrSet -cp 2
