Hot Swappable FRUs
A field replaceable unit (FRU) is “hot swappable” if it can be removed and
replaced while the array is powered on, without disrupting I/O activity. A FRU
is
not
hot swappable if all applications and file systems must be terminated, or
a host shutdown must be performed, before it can be replaced.
