Troubleshooting
This chapter serves as a troubleshooting guide when problems occur with the UPS. Solutions
for UPS problems that occur both during and after startup are covered.
Troubleshooting
If problems occur when starting or using the UPS, refer to Table 5-1 for possible causes and
suggested actions.
Table 5-1: Troubleshooting Guide
Symptom
Possible Cause
Suggested Action
The UPS does not start
and the Utility LED (
) is
not illuminated.
There is no utility power.
Contact a qualified electrician.
The UPS power cord is
disconnected.
Connect the power cord.
An audible alarm is
present.
An alarm condition
exists.
Identify the LED associated with the
alarm condition. Check this
troubleshooting guide to determine the
cause of the alarm.
The UPS operates on
battery only, even though
normal utility power is
present.
The input overcurrent
protector is open or the
load exceeds the rating
of the UPS.
Save your work and turn off the
equipment. Reduce the load, then press
the input overcurrent protector on the
UPS rear panel.
