Installing the Cache Memory Module
1. Disconnect the power supply cable.
2. Remove the computer’s cover and power supply unit (see “Removing and Replacing the
Cover” and “Removing and Replacing the Power Supply Unit”).
3. Remove the heatsink of the processor for better access to the cache module socket
(see diagram under “Installing an Upgrade Processor”). Do not remove the processor.
4. Align the cache memory module directly over the socket (make sure that the cutout in
the module is aligned with the bar in the socket). Hold it upright with both hands, and
firmly push it straight down into position.
5. Replace the heatsink on the processor.
6. Install any other accessories; see “Checking the Installation” to complete the installation.
