Setting the Device Boot Order
To select the drive to start (boot) from, you must enter the
Setup
program and go to
Advanced - Advanced CMOS Setup
. You can then
select the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Boot Devices. Connecting a hard disk
drive to the IDE master connector
does not
ensure that the PC will
boot on that hard disk drive.
NOTE
The first time you start your PC, the PC will by default boot from the
hard disk drive connected to the Master IDE connector on the Primary
IDE cable (IDE-0).
The drive positions on the two IDE cables are:
When booting from a different hard disk drive, make sure you know its
physical position on the cable.
