Configuring source IPv6 addresses for MLD messages
Changing the source IPv6 address of MLD queries might affect MLD querier election within the
subnet.
To configure the source IP address for MLD queries in a VLAN:

queries is one of the following:

The source address of MLD
general queries if the MLD
snooping querier has
received MLD general
queries.

The IPv6 link-local address
of the current VLAN interface
if the MLD snooping querier
does not receive an MLD
general query.
•
FE80::02FF:FFFF:FE00:000
1 if the MLD snooping
querier does not receive an
MLD general query and the
current VLAN interface does
not have an IPv6 link-local
address.
