2.1 System Overview
This section gives an overview of the system.
The E8000E-X16 adopts a centralized routing engine and distributed forwarding architecture.
This helps to provide rich and flexible service and to perform large-capacity forwarding.
System Architecture
The E8000E-X16 is composed of the following subsystems:

Power supply system
l
Heat dissipation system
l
Functional host system
All subsystems are placed in integrated chassis.
The functional host subsystem consists of system backplane, LPU, SPU, and SFU. The
subsystem mainly performs data processing function. In addition, the subsystem monitors and
manages all devices in the system, including power modules and fan modules. The functional
host system can be connected to Network Management System (NMS) through NMS interface.
