Surge Protection for Signal Ports
Signal ports meet the surge protection level of 1 kV/2 kV in differential and
common modes and can be connected only to indoor equipment.
Grounding
The main earthing terminal (MET) installed in the power module is connected to
the ground grid of the data center over ground downleads.
4.5 Integrated Cabling
The integrated cabling system of the PowerPOD involves cable trays and various
cables.
●
10 kV cables must be cables with shielding jackets and can be routed in from
the top (cable tray) or bottom (trench) of the transformer cabinet.
●
PVC insulated or XLPE insulated cables are recommended for low-
voltage .power cables. The maximum operating temperature of a PVC
insulated power cable is 70°C, and that of an XLPE insulated power cable is
90°C.

For details about the current-carrying capacity of power cables of different
temperature specifications at the ambient temperature of 30°C, see IEC
60364-5-52 and NFPA 70 Article 310.

When the ambient temperature is not 30°C, the current-carrying capacity of
the power cables must be multiplied by an appropriate derating coefficient,
such as the ambient temperature derating coefficient and multi-loop derating
coefficient.

By default, the color of the external cable of the PowerPOD is determined
based on customer requirements or local standards. By default, the internal
cable of the PowerPOD is a single-core black power cable.
CA UTION
● When a single-core black power cable is used, the polarities of the cable are
distinguished by the color of the heat shrink tubing or insulation tape at both
ends.
● The cable selection for each project must comply with local standards or
customer requirements. The PowerPOD cable selection result applies only to
certain regions and is not universal.
External low-voltage cables of the PowerPOD are routed along the cable tray on
the top of the cabinet and are decoupled from the cabinet. Cables are distributed
based on the principle of electric current from ELV current.
