HES-319M IDU
The HES-319M IDU is a Power over Ethernet, or PoE, adapter that is powered from the AC mains. It provides
the communications interface between your customer’s computing equipment and the ODU, and supplies
power to the ODU.
The PoE adapter has two ports and three LEDs:
RJ–45 port labelled "
OUT
" (A):
o
Supports a 10/100 BaseT Power over
Ethernet link to the ODU
o
Sends control signals to and receives
status indications from the ODU
o
Supplies power to the ODU (B)
Be very careful to connect
ONLY the ODU to the
OUT
port. The power destined
for the ODU can destroy
customer equipment in
milliseconds.

IN
" (C):
o
Supports a 10/100 BaseT Ethernet link to
the customer's computing equipment (D).
Generally, the equipment is a computer
but may also be a LAN device such as a
router.

CONNECT
” LED (E): On when the PoE adapter
is powered up and connected to the ODU
“
FAULT
” LED (F): On when a fault condition
occurs.
If the condition does not clear itself in 30
seconds, unplug the PoE adapter for 10
seconds.
“
ON
” LED (G): On when the PoE adapter is
powered up
Operating specifications are:
