System Scheme
The checkpoint camera is mainly used for road surveillance. Before the site survey and
installation, ensure that the installation environment meets the following requirements:
Illumination
: at least 50 lux (can be measured by using an illuminometer).
•
The outdoor illuminance is too high under direct sunlight. Therefore, try to avoid direct sunlight.
•
The illuminance at urban roads at night is insufficient. To clearly capture images at night, you need to install
external illuminators for the camera.
Light direction
:
even illumination, no backlight or highlight
Lane requirements:
•
Ensure that the path within 50 m in front of and behind the camera is a straight line. Ensure that there are no
traffic lights within 200 m in front of or behind the camera. Otherwise, vehicles may queue up and the camera
may be unable to capture license plates of subsequent vehicles.
•
At some intersections, there are multiple lanes for diverting vehicles with different driving directions. In this
case, it is recommended that
cameras be installed a little bit away from these intersections and be installed in
a location with fewer lanes
to facilitate license plate capture and recognition.
•
Avoid bus stations in the field of view
. Vehicles may block each other at bus stations, which affects license
plate capture and recognition.
•
There are street lamps on the test site
. Avoid sodium lamps and strobe or flash lights
that are not controlled by
cameras within the camera's field of view.
•
Keep the camera away
from irrelevant objects such as leaves and billboards, as well as highly reflective
objects such as glasses.
Others:
•
Ensure that the pole or beam can sustain at least four times the total weight of the camera, housing, and
mount.
•
Take waterproofing measures to prevent any liquid from flowing into the device.
