5.3 NE20E-S8A Power Supply System
5.3.1 Architecture of the Power Supply System
The device supports DC power input and AC power input.
The device is powered by two PSUs, which work in 1+1 backup mode. When one PSU fails
or is removed, the other one can still supply adequate power for the device. The PSUs are
installed in the two top slots of the chassis and supply power for the MPUs, NSPs, PICs, and
fan module.
The following measures are taken to ensure that the PSUs can supply stable and safe power
for the system:
Protection against output overcurrent
Protection against output overvoltage
Protection against input undervoltage
Protection against overtemperature
Protection against short circuit
Alarm generation
5.3.2 Diagram of the Power Supply Architecture
A power supply system consists of two power modules working in 1+1 redundancy mode.
Figure 5-5 shows the diagram of the power supply architecture. Each power module provides
a 48 V power input and a 3.3 V power input to the boards. The two 48 V power inputs are
integrated in the boards and the two 3.3 V power inputs are integrated in the backplane and
then input to the boards. Each power module provides a 48 V power input to the fans. The two
48 V power inputs are integrated in the backplane and then input to the fans.
