5.3 Installing Adjustable Guide Rails for Clustered NAS
Engine Enclosure
Before assembling a clustered NAS engine enclosure, you must install adjustable guide rails to
bear it. With the adjustable guide rails, a clustered NAS engine enclosure can be placed into
different depths of cabinets.
Prerequisites
The following tools and materials have been ready:

Phillips screwdriver (M3 to M6)
l
Marker pen
l
M6 screws
l
Square-hole positioning pins (matching square-hole channels)
l
Round-hole positioning pins (matching round-hole channels)
Context
NOTICE
Stacking storage devices will damage devices; therefore, storage devices must be placed on
adjustable guide rails.
l
Each clustered NAS engine enclosure is equipped with a pair of adjustable guide rails.
l
Guide rails can be flexibly adjusted from 600 mm to 900 mm, and installed in the cabinet
with a depth from 800 mm to 1200 mm.
l
Adjustable guide rails come preinstalled with square-hole positioning pins. If required,
change square-hole positioning pins to round-hole ones before installing adjustable guide
rails.
NOTE
You can find round-hole positioning pins in the accessory bag delivered with storage devices.
l
Four M6 screws are used to secure adjustable guide rails.
