5.8 Installing an SUD
Installing an SUD into a cabinet includes sliding the SUD into the cabinet, securing the SUD,
and checking the installation result.
Prerequisites
Adjustable guide rails have been assembled.
The following tools and materials have been ready:

M6 screws
l
Phillips screwdriver (M3 to M6)
l
Floating nuts
l
Floating nut mounting bar or flat-head screwdriver
Context
CAUTION
The SUD is heavy and should be installed into a cabinet by three people.
Before installing a 4 U SUD, install floating nuts nowhere but at the marked positions above the
adjustable guide rails since adjustable guide rails themselves provide screw holes for securing
the SUD.
Procedure
Step 1
Insert the lower end of a floating nut into a planned square hole, as shown in step 1 of
Figure 5-8
