Note:
1. Optical fiber connectors (Live tie-in is the common name): ITU recommends to
define it as “Used to connect passive components of two or several optical fibers
steadily but not permanently”. Optical fiber connectors are indispensable passive
components in optical fiber communication system. Their application enables the
removable connection between light path.
There are various optical fiber connectors, such as:
z
FC: Round connector with screw thread
z
ST: Round clip connector
z
SC: Square connector
z
MT-RJ: Square connector combining transfer and receive
2. All the above optical fibers are optional. User should select corresponding fibers before purchasing
1ATM-OC3MM, 1ATM-OC3SM or 1ATM-OC3SML card.
7.8.5 Connecting Interface Optical Fiber
Warning:
When connecting the fiber optic, pay attention to the following:
z
Do not bend the fiber optic overly.
z
Ensure TX and RX end of the interface are proper connected.
z
Ensure the cleanness at the interface of the fiber optic.
Warning:
Laser Danger! Do not stare at the optical fiber connector connected with the laser in case the invisible
laser radiation harms your eyes.
Step 1:
Ensure RX and TX optical interface on the interface module, and connect RX
and TX interface to that of the peer device with optical fiber.
Step 2:
Check LINK indicator on the panel 1ATM-OC3MM
/
1ATM-OC3SM/1ATM-OC3SML after powering on the device. On means RX link has
been connected and Off means the link is still disconnected.
