Chapter 2

Installing RF Antenna & Feeder System

2-40

  Note:

z

If the feeder is longer than 60m, it is necessary to add grounding clips to the middle of the feeder,
and the spacing of the grounding clips is 20m.

z

If the connection between the cabinet and antenna uses soft jumper only, and the total length is
smaller than or equal to 5m, it is allowed to ground the jumper near the cabinet only.

z

If the connection between the cabinet and antenna uses soft jumper only, and the total length is
smaller than or equal to 10m, it is allowed to ground the jumper under the antenna and near the
cabinet only.

z

If the antenna & feeder system adopts soft jumper only, and the total length is smaller than or equal
to 5m, it is allowed to ground the jumper near the cabinet only.

II. When cabinet adopts indoor installation and the outdoor part of the feeder

is longer than 20m

For tower installation:

z

1m~2m down the antenna

z

1m around the point where the feeder is routed down the iron tower platform

z

1m around the point where the feeder is routed onto the outdoor cabling rack

z

Near the outside of feeder window

z

Near the grounding bar inside the equipment room

For mast installation:

z

1m~2m down the antenna

z

1m around the point where the feeder is routed down the mast

z

The point where the feeder is routed down the roof

z

Near the outside of feeder window

z

Near the grounding bar inside the equipment room

Other installation modes:

z

If the feeder is longer than 60m, it is necessary to add grounding clips to the
middle of the feeder, and the spacing of the grounding clips is 20m.

z

If the part from the point where the feeder is routed off the tower to the point
where the feeder is routed off the roof is longer than 20m, it is necessary to add
a grounding clip.

z

If the feeder is routed from the roof along the wall into the equipment room using
cabling ladder, it is necessary to ground the cabling ladder.

z

The direction of the feeder's grounding cable shall follow the antenna to cabinet's
antenna port. The included corner between the grounding cable and the feeder is
preferably smaller than 15

°

. The feeder grounding clip shall be fixed on the steel

plate of the tower.
