1.5 Testing Antenna & Feeder Equipment
To guarantee the quality of the installation of the antenna & feeder system, it is
suggested that the antenna & feeder equipment be tested before the installation. To
reduce the operations on the tower, please test the equipment, assemble the antenna
and add the feeder connectors on the ground. In the case of roof installation, if there
is enough space, the preparation can be done on the roof, or else should be done on
the ground or in the room.
1.5.1 Testing antenna
Since antenna is vulnerable during transportation, it is necessary to inspect the
antenna carefully prior to the installation for any visible damage, crack or connector
problem. If any, contact the personnel concerned immediately and suspend the
installation.
If no obvious problem found, connect the antenna with the corresponding jumper and
test its Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) using the radio analyzer. Try different
orientations when testing the antenna, as it is related to the antenna VSWR. If the
