Before powering on the equipment, ensure that:

•Power on the equipment within 24 hours of unpacking.
•During maintenance, the power-off time of the equipment cannot be longer than 24 hours.

1. Use the Web LCT to enable the power over ethernet function of the interconnected EG4P board on
the RTN 900.
a. In the NE Explorer, select the desired NE from the Object Tree and choose
Configuration

Ethernet Interface
from the Function Tree.
b. Click the
Advanced Attributes
tab.
c. Set
POE
to
Enabled
for the port that provides power over Ethernet to the RTN 380e.

Powering On the Equipment Networked with the RTN 900
Powering On the RTN 380e Supplied by the Indoor PI
Before powering on the equipment, ensure that:
• The GE cable used for providing power over Ethernet and
the PI power cable are installed.
• Ensure that the indoor PI works in PSE-PD mode. If the
indoor PI is powered on and works in FORCE mode,
disconnect the input power cable from the PI and push the
power output switch of the PI to the PSE-PD side.
• Power on the equipment within 24 hours of unpacking.
• During maintenance, the power-off time of the equipment
cannot be longer than 24 hours.

P&E ports (3/P1 and 4/P2) on the EG4P board
When a P&E port on an OptiX RTN 900 is connected to a
device other than OptiX RTN 300, the power over Ethernet
function must be disabled. Otherwise, the peer device may
be damaged.

Powering On the RTN 380e Supplied by the Outdoor PI
Before powering on the equipment, ensure that:
•The P&E cable and the PI power cable are installed.
•DIP switches are set correctly, and the DIP switch for setting the
power over mode for the used P&E port is turned to the PSE-PD
side. After setting the DIP switches, switch off the power supply.
After waiting for 6 seconds, switch on the power supply again.
• Power on the equipment within 24 hours of unpacking.
• During maintenance, the power-off time of the equipment
cannot be longer than 24 hours.

NOTE
In normal conditions, POWER and P&E OUT indicators are on
(green). For a description of indicator states, see the PI
