If necessary, remove all DIMMs.

If you are instructed to return the memory card, follow all packaging instructions, and use
any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.

Replacing the memory card:
To install the replacement memory card, complete the following
steps:

Insert the memory card into the memory-card connector. Press the memory card into the
connector and the retention latch down onto the top of the memory card.
Step 9
Slide the blue release latch toward the front of the server, into the locked position.
Step 10
Install the top cover (see “Replacing the top cover”).

Removing a DIMM:
DIMMs must be installed in pairs of the same type and speed. To use
the memory-mirroring feature, all the DIMMs that are installed in the server must be of the
same type and speed, and the operating system must support memory mirroring.
To remove a DIMM, complete the following steps.

Read the safety information and “Installation guidelines”.
Step 12
Turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect the power cords and all external
cables as necessary.

Remove the top cover (see “Removing the top cover”).
Step 14
Remove the memory card (see “Removing a memory card”).
