Air filter in the SFU area
NOTE
Placing a black sponge air filter in front of the air intake vent helps prevent dust from entering the
system. You are advised to remove and clean air filters at least once every three months.
1.1.6 Switch Fabric
This section describes the mechanism of the switch fabric on the USG9580.
The USG9580 has four independent switch fabric units (SFUs) that work in 3+1 backup mode
to achieve simultaneous load balancing. When one SFU is faulty or is being replaced, the
other three SFUs automatically take over its tasks to ensure service continuity. For more
details about USG9580 SFUs, see
The switching network responsible for switching data between LPUs/SPUs is a key
component of the USG9580. The USG9580 uses switching chips developed by Huawei and
Memory-Crossbar-Memory (M-C-M) to provide three-level switching. Level-1 and level-3
switching use a shared-memory model and are performed on LPUs/SPUs; level-2 switching
uses a Crossbar model and is performed on SFUs.
