Follow-up Procedure

equipment supplier or the specified repair service provider.
3.2 Expanding SPU Capacity
This section describes how to expand SPU capacity.
3.2.1 Expanding SPU Capacity for the Active and Standby FWs in
Hot Standby Scenarios (V500R001C50 and Later Versions)
This section describes how to expand SPU capacity for the active and standby FWs in hot
standby scenarios.
Precautions
Expand SPU capacity as follows only when V500R001C50 or a later version is being used on
the FW.
Before expanding SPU capacity, prepare new SPUs. The SPUs to be installed on the active
and standby FWs for capacity expansion must be of the same model. In addition, they must be
installed in the same slot on the active and standby FWs.
If two FWs work in active/standby mode, you must first expand the SPU capacity for the
standby FW and then for the active FW. If two FWs work in load balancing mode, run the
hrp switch active
command on one FW to switch the operating mode to the active/standby
mode and then expand SPU capacities.
The following table lists which services are affected when an SPU is hot-swapped.
