The general layout principles of the equipment room are as follows:
l
Meet requirements for laying out and maintaining communication cables and power
cables.
l
Minimize cabling distance, which facilitates cable maintenance, reduces potential
communication faults, and raises efficiency.
A.3.3 Construction Requirements for the Equipment Room
describes the construction requirements for the equipment room.
Table A-32
Construction requirements for the equipment room
Item
Requirements
Area
The smallest area of the equipment room can accommodate the
equipment with the largest capacity.
Net height
The minimum height of the equipment room indicates the net height
below the beam or the ventilation pipe. The minimum height of the
equipment room is 3 m.
Floor
The floor in the equipment room should be semi-conductive and
dustproof. A raised floor with an ESD function is recommended. Pave the
floor solidly and evenly. The horizontal tolerance of each square meter
should be less than 2 mm. If a raised floor is not possible, use floor
material that conducts static electricity, with a volume resistivity of 1.0 x
107 ohms to 1.0 x 1010 ohms. Ground the floor material that conducts
static electricity or raise the floor so that static electricity can be
conducted. You can connect them with the grounding unit by using the
current limiting resistor and connection line. The resistance of the current
limiting resistor is one megohm.
Load-bearing
capacity
Larger than 150 kg/m
2
.
Door and
windows
The door of the equipment room should be 2 m high and 1 m wide. One
door is sufficient. Install doors and windows with dustproof plastic tape
to maintain a seal. Install double-layer windows and seal them.
Wall surface
treatment
Install wallpaper or apply flat paint to the wall surface. Do not use
pulverized paint.
Grooves
Use grooves to arrange cables. The inner faces of the grooves must be
smooth. The reserved length and width of the grooves and the number,
position, and dimensions of the holes must comply with the requirements
of device arrangement.
Water pipe
Do not pass service pipes, drainpipes, or storm sewers through the
equipment room. Do not install a fire hydrant in the equipment room. A
fire hydrant can be installed in a hall or near a staircase.
Internal
partition wall
Divide the equipment and the door using an internal partition wall. This
prevents intrusion of dust.
