3.2.2 Expanding SPC Capacity for the Active and Standby FWs in
Hot Standby Scenarios (for V500R001C50 and Later Versions)
This section describes how to expand SPC capacity for the active and standby FWs in hot
standby scenarios.
Precautions
Expand SPC capacity as follows only when the software is of V500R001C50 or a later
version.
Before expanding SPC capacity, prepare new SPCs. The SPCs to be installed on the active
and standby FWs for capacity expansion must be of the same model. In addition, they must be
installed in the same slot on the active and standby FWs.
If two FWs work in active/standby mode, you must first expand the SPC capacity for the
standby FW and then expand the capacity for the active FW. If two FWs work in load
balancing mode, run the
hrp switch active
command on one FW to switch the operating
mode to the active/standby mode and then expand SPC capacity.
The following table lists which services are affected when an SPC is hot-swapped.

Before capacity expansion, record card tables of the two FWs. This will allow you to compare
the card tables with those after capacity expansion to check whether the capacity expansion
was successful.
