Holding the upper and lower handles of the fan module, slowly insert the fan module
horizontally along the guide rails in the slot until the rear of the fan module properly connects
to the backplane. sing the Phillips screwdriver, fasten the fan module to the chassis by

Step 6
Verify that the new fan module is working properly.
Normally, after the new fan module is inserted into the chassis, the fans inside it immediately
starts drawing air from the chassis. In this case, you can check whether the new fan module is
working properly in the following ways:
l
Check the FAN indicator on the panel of the fan module. If it is green, the fan module is
working normally. If the indicator is red, the fan module is not working normally.
l
Run the
display fan
command on the console interface to view the running status of the
fan module. The fan module is working normally if the following is displayed:
