Requirements
Signal cable
routing
Do not arrange the signal cables overhead in the equipment room. All
signal cables must be led into the site underground.
Use cables with metal jackets or place them into a metal pipe if they
come out/in the equipment room.
Keep the PGND cable of the lightning arrester as short as possible.
Ground the idle lines inside the cable in the equipment room.
Collective
ground cable
Use the grounding ring or ground bar for the collective ground cable.
Do not use aluminum cables as ground cables. Adopt measures to
prevent electrification corrosion when connecting different metal parts
together.
Use the copper busbar as the collective ground cable a the cross-
sectional area not less than 120 mm
2
. Alternatively, use the galvanized
flat steel with the same resistance. Insulate the collective ground cable
from the reinforcing steel bars of the building.
Grounding lead-
in
The grounding lead-in should not exceed 30 m long in length. Use
galvanized flat steel with a cross-sectional area of 4 0 mm x 4 mm or
50 mm x 5 mm.
A.3.10 Power Supply Requirements
This section describes the requirements for power supply conditions.
DC Power Supply Requirements
The telecommunication site should receive stable and reliable DC power supply. Deploy the
power equipment near the telecom equipment to make the DC feeder as short as possible. To
reduce power consumption and installation costs, ensure that the loop voltage drop from the
battery port to the equipment port is less than 3.2 V.
For sites with heavy traffic or with more than two switching systems, two or more
independent power supply systems are required.
For a large-scale communication site, configure multiple power supply systems in different
floors to supply power to different equipment rooms. For a common communication site with
medium traffic, configure a centralized power room or battery room. You can also adopt the
distributed power supply mode. For a site with light traffic, use integrated power supply.
Protect the circuit board from corrosive gas released by the battery.
