Precautions

Do not touch rotating fan blades.
l
Remove and insert a fan module with even force. Excessive force may damage the
connectors or appearance of the fan module.
l
Remove only one fan module at a time.
l
After removing a fan module, install a new one within two minutes. Otherwise, the
system heat dissipation is compromised.

Step 1
Perform a pre-replacement check.
Check whether there is a redundant fan module and whether the Running/Alarm indicator of
the fan module is steady green, as shown in

You can perform replacement only when a redundant fan module exists and the redundant fan
module is working properly.
Step 2
Wear an ESD wrist strap.
Step 3
Press the latch on the fan module to release the handle and pull out the fan module, as shown
in
