DESCRIPTION
Hubbell Feed-thrus provide a
means to test, ground, place
an elbow arrester, or park a
loadbreak elbow connector.
They can also be used to by-
pass a transformer. They are
designed and tested to meet
the requirements of IEEE
Std. 386 - latest revision.

CAUTION
The equipment covered by these instructions should be installed, operated and serviced only by competent
personnel familiar with safety practices. This instruction is written for such personnel and is not intended as a
substitute for adequate training and experience in safe procedures for this type of equipment.
Important:
Read these instructions thoroughly before operating the system. Be sure that the
connectors are rated for the intended energized use. (See Hubbell catalogs (C1) & (C2) for selecting the
correct mating product.) Visually inspect parts for damage before using.
!
DANGER
All apparatus must be de-energized during installation or removal of parts. Do not touch or move energized
product by hand. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious or fatal injury, as well as damage to the
product.
These instructions do not purport to cover all details or variations in equipment nor to provide for every possible contingency to be met in connection with
installation, operation or maintenance. Should further information be desired or should particular problems arise which are not covered sufficiently for the

DANGER
Remove all protective shipping caps and replace with an approved insulating cap or connector prior to the
junction being submersed or the circuit energized. The protective shipping caps are intended to keep the
interfaces clean during shipping and handling and should never be used on energized equipment.
Step 1 - Prepare Feed-thru
A. Ground
Attach a #14 AWG copper wire (or equivalent) to the ground
lug of the Feed-thru bracket and attach the free end of the
grounding wire to system ground. See Figure 1.
B. Remove Shipping Cap
Remove the shipping cap and inspect the product taking
care to keep the interfaces free of contaminants. See
Figure 1.
C. Clean & Lubricate
Clean and lubricate the 200A interface with supplied
silicone lubricant packet or Hubbell SL150 silicone tube.
DO NOT SUBSTITUTE. Other lubricants may be harmful.
See Figure 1.
Step 2 – Install Feed-thru
A. Attach Hotstick
Attach an insulated hotstick to the eyebolt of the Feed-thru
and secure tightly. See Figure 2.
B. Install Feed-Thru
Using the insulated hotstick, slide the bracket disk into the
apparatus parking stand. Rotate the eyebolt clockwise
until it firmly wedges the Feed-thru to the parking stand.
(Do not over-tighten) See Figure 3.
NOTE: Rotation of the eyebolt may be easier if the hotstick
tool is partially loosened from the eyebolt.
Step 3 – Cover Feed-thru
Install the mating products of the Feed-thru following the
instructions supplied with the mating products.
See Figure 4.
NOTE:
If the Feed-thru is not to be immediately mated
with a mating product, replace the shipping caps to keep
the bushing interface free of contamination.
NOTE:
DO NOT energize or submerge the apparatus with
the shipping cap on the Feed-thru.
