1. Installation:
1.1 Where to set up the emergency phone
When
installing the emergency phone, please consider that the unit should be within
the signal range of the emergency pendant, therefore placed in an area of common use
during day and night. The range of the pendant is reduced by structural obstacles (for
example walls) and has a range up to 40 meters in an open area.
1.2 Installing the batteries of the telephone powercut backup
The
telephone requires 4 pieces of Type AAA 1.5V Alkaline batteries for the backup of all
functions (including the emergency call function) for a maximum of 12 hours.
The telephone numbers in memory and voice recording are stored in a non-volatile flash
memory which does not require battery backup.
Make sure that the telephone is disconnected from the telephone line and the mains
power supply before opening the battery compartment.
Please proceed as follows when inserting the batteries:
1.
Remove the battery compartment cover underneath the phone.
2.
Insert four 1.2 V alkaline batteries (size AAA, included) into the battery compartment.
Ensure that the batteries are inserted with correct polarity!
3. Close the battery compartment cover.
Please note:
1. When
the battery symbol appears on the LCD display, you should replace the batteries.
2. For
safety reasons, if the battery voltage becomes too low, the phone will automatically
shut down. In this case, the display will fade out and all functions will be off, except the
basic functions, such as calling, dialling, receiving etc. which will still be working.
3. When the batteries are replaced, replug the AC power adaptor. The display will light up
and the symbol will disappear from the display.
