11. Causes and avoidance of false alarms
The smoke detector can be triggered by steam, fine dust, condensa-
tion and tobacco smoke. Small insects getting into the smoke alarm
chamber may also cause intermittent alarms.
Mount the smoke detector in areas unlikely to be affected by such
sources of false alarm. Refer to chapter 6

In the event of a presumed false alarm:
- Press the test button to cancel the active alarm.
For your own safety, you should immediately and regardless do the
following:
- Check your living space for small fires.
- Check your living space for sources of smoke.
Should false alarms of a smoke detector occur frequently, consider
relocating the according smoke detector to a different position.
