1.4. Inserting or ejecting a CD
Insert your CD into the slot located on the bottom side of the unit. Gently
push the CD forward. The drive mechanism will take over and automatically
finish inserting the CD. After a few seconds, Victor Reader will announce the
title of the book. If you accidentally insert a CD upside down, it will eject
automatically within 15 seconds without damage.
To eject a CD, simply press the Eject key, located to the right of, and slightly
up from, the Fast Forward key. Victor Reader will say Eject and after a few
seconds the motorized mechanism will gently eject the CD out of the drive.
Once Victor Reader has finished ejecting the CD, remove it and return it to its
case.
Note: The Eject key only works after Victor Reader is turned on and you have
heard the message "Welcome to Victor Reader Classic".

1.5. Inserting or ejecting a memory card
SD memory cards have one corner that is cut at a 45 degree angle. To insert
the card, hold it so that the angled corner is at the lower left. Push it into the
card slot on the top back edge of the unit until it clicks into the locking
mechanism. If the card is not oriented correctly, it will resist insertion.
To remove the card, first position to any book on the card by using the
Bookshelf key. Then press the EJECT key. Victor Reader will then tell you that
the card may be removed. Push inwards on the card to release the locking
mechanism. Then pull the card out. Caution: You should always press the
Eject key before removing the card to ensure that the software closes and
saves all recording files. Removing the card without first pressing the Eject
key could damage the card's file structure.
