7.2. Insert a Simple Bookmark
To insert a simple bookmark, do the following:
a) Press the Bookmark Key, the second key in the left column, twice or until
you hear 'insert bookmark'.
b) On the numeric keypad, enter the number you wish to assign to the
Bookmark.
c) Press the # Key to confirm. The bookmark will be stored in memory.
d) To cancel an operation in progress, press the * Key.
Note : If you confirm without entering a number, Victor Reader will assign
one for you. You can also access this function by holding the Bookmark Key
down instead of pressing it twice. There is room in internal memory for about
2,000 simple bookmarks. If you set a bookmark and memory is full, Victor
Reader will over-write the bookmarks from the least recently used book.

7.3. Record an Audio Bookmark
To record an audio bookmark, do the following:
a) Press the Bookmark Key twice or until you hear 'insert bookmark'.
b) On the numeric keypad, enter the number you wish to assign to the
Bookmark. Alternately, you may skip this step and a number will be assigned
automatically.
c) Press the Record button and recite your message. You may press Record
again to pause, and again to resume recording.
d) Press the Play/Stop to end. The bookmark will be stored in memory.
e) To cancel an operation in progress, press the * Key.
Audio bookmarks are limited to a maximum of one minute. If the one-minute
limit is reached, the recording is stopped and the bookmark is saved.
Audio bookmarks may be recorded during the playback of books or audio
notes. You may even create a simple bookmark while recording an audio
note. This would be useful to mark an important comment made during a
lecture or meeting that you are recording. Audio bookmarks are always
recorded at high compression regardless of the Menu compression setting.
There is 9mb of internal flash available for bookmarks allowing up to 90
minutes of recorded audio bookmarks. If you record a new bookmark and
memory is full, Victor Reader will over-write the audio bookmarks from the
least recently used book.

7.4. Browse the Bookmark List
To browse the bookmark list, do the following:
a) Press the Bookmark Key, the second key in the left column, 3 times or
until you hear 'bookmark list'.
b) Press Key 4 or Key 6 to move to the previous or next bookmark. Each
