When the mower leaves the charging station it searches
for the area that has been least mown. This means
that the settings made in
Lawn coverage
are then not
used by the mower. The automatic settings made by
the robotic lawnmower cannot be read in the display.
The mower stays around the point it judges to be least
cut until it has been cut short. This means the mower
can be seen turning and driving to and fro over a small
part of the garden. This does not mean there is an error
however, it is part of the normal pattern of GPS assisted
navigation.
If there is any problem with GPS assisted navigation,
the built up map can be deleted via
Installation - Lawn
coverage - GPS.
The mower then has to build up a new
map, which can take a number of days.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
If the same robotic lawnmower is used for
two or more charging stations that are close
together (neighbours for instance), the GPS
assisted navigation can only be used in one
of the working areas. Otherwise the digital
map can be misleading and the robotic
lawnmower’s lawn coverage can therefore
be reduced.
3.8 Safe operation on slopes
To achieve the best mowing results and operating safety
even when parts of the working area are sloping, the
mower adjusts its operation automatically depending on
factors such as the slope angle and travel direction.
The working area’s incline can be expressed in
various ways. Table 2: Slope conditions, sets out the
relationship between the different ways of expressing
slopes as a percentage, height-length-ratio and in
degrees.
•
The specified slope on which the robotic
lawnmower can work is 45%. Accessibility on
steeper slopes than this cannot be guaranteed.
•
When the robotic lawnmower reaches the
boundary loop, or collides with an obstacle
and the slope is more than 23%, it will turn and
reverse in one single movement. This is done
to minimise lawn wear and provide maximum
grip at the same time.
•
If the robotic lawnmower is travelling forwards
and the incline is more than 67% the mower
stops. It will then reverse and turn in one
movement to try to find a less steep slope. If
after two attempts the mower cannot find a less
steep slope, it stops and the display indicates
that the stop is caused by a steep incline.
