Example 4 shows how different corridor width settings have an impact on the mower’s search path along the boundary
wire. When the mower follows the boundary wire at a low corridor width, for instance 2, it has to travel a long way to the
charging station leading to long search times. If a higher corridor width is used instead the mower can take a shortcut
and travel through narrow openings and passages to result in shorter search times. It is not a problem that the corridor
width is set so high to prevent the mower getting through the passage by the guide wire as the mower selects to follow
the guide wire when it passes it. The mower’s search times can therefore be reduced by reviewing the corridor width
settings for the boundary wire.
