1. Put a container below the oil drain plug on the left
side of the engine.
2. Remove the oil drain plug.
3. Remove the dipstick.
4. Drain the oil into the container.
5. Put a new gasket on the oil drain plug. Attach the oil
drain plug and tighten it.
6. Turn the oil filter counterclockwise to remove it.
7. Lightly lubricate the rubber seal on the new oil filter
with new oil.
8. To attach the oil filter, turn it clockwise by hand until
the rubber seal is in position, then tighten a half turn
more.
9. Fill with new oil as given in
67
.
10. Start the engine and let it run at idle speed speed for
3 minutes.
11. Stop the engine and make sure that the oil filter does
not leak.
12. Do a check of the oil level.

To replace the fuel filters
To replace the fuel prefilter
You find the fuel prefilter below the battery housing on
the left side of the product.
WARNING:
Use protective gloves to
prevent skin irritation. Fuel can come from
the fuel filter and onto your skin.
1. Remove the screw to the clamp that holds the fuel
prefilter in position.
2. Pull the fuel filter out from the clamp.
3. Loosen the screws to the hose clips.
4. Move the hose clips away from the fuel prefilter with
a pair of flat pliers.
5. Pull off the fuel prefilter from the hose ends. There is
a risk of a small fuel leak.
6. Make sure that the new fuel prefilter is in the correct
direction for the fuel flow. Push the new fuel prefilter
into the ends of the hoses. Apply liquid detergent to
the ends of the fuel prefilter to make the connection
easier.
7. Push the hose clips against the fuel prefilter.
8. Tighten the screws to the hose clips and install the
fuel prefilter in the clamp.
To replace the paper filter in the main filter
1. Open the engine cover. Refer to
remove the engine cover on page 48

2. Remove the air filter. Refer to

3. Close the fuel valve (A).
4. Turn the locknut (B) ½ a turn counterclockwise and
remove the filter housing.
