HWAM WALL
A design competition was held in 1998 in connection with HWAM Heat Design’s 25th anniversary
in collaboration with the Danish Design Centre. Four recognised designers offered their suggestions
for a modern, functional stove.
The winning stove – HWAM WALL – was designed by architect Mogens Kristensen and designer
Torben Madsen from Århus Arkitekterne and SMT design.
HWAM WALL – Made by me
The basic idea behind HWAM WALL is to provide the individual consumer with some influence on
the design of the stove. It comprises a basic stove which can either be hung on a wall or placed freely
in the room on a plinth. The basic stove can be equipped with a screen in various materials to offer
a design expression that fulfils the individual consumer’s wishes.
Hanging a stove on a wall provides several advantages: it fits naturally into the interior, it requires very
little space, and it is easy to clean beneath and around it.
The standard stove is equipped with an electronically controlled glass door which can be raised
and lowered and stopped in any position in between with the help of a remote control module.
This makes it possible to use the stove in a traditional way - and also as an open fireplace to obtain
extra cosiness and hear the crackling of the flames. HWAM WALL is also available with a manually
operated glass door.
An efficient source of heating from HWAM Heat Design
HWAM WALL is a stove in a new, exclusive design that also includes all the technical experience
HWAM Heat Design AS has gained over the years.
HWAM WALL is a convection stove with convection ribs on the sides to enhance the heating effect.
There is only one regulating rod – and this can be operated from both sides of the stove. The ash
pan can be placed on the right or left side as the customer requires. Similarly to the other stoves in
the HWAM Heat design range, HWAM WALL is equipped with the patented automatic system that
ensures efficient utilisation of the heat. The stove’s built-in glass rinsing system in the door ensure
that the risk of soot formation is minimised.
Approvals
The stove is DS approved for burning wood. Burning chipboard, lacquered, painted or impregnated
wood, as well as plastic and rubber is prohibited and will harm the stove.
Technical data
Shown on the following pages and in the brochure.
